The 2018 Grimm Migration

800 miles, 9 states, 100 potty breaks, and 1,000 snacks later…we finally made it to North Carolina!!!! It was certainly a journey, with a few stops along the way, but we are finally here for good…or at least we hope :0 We stopped in Monroe, NY for a visit to play and to see the dentist (no cavities). We were also lucky enough to spend a week in OBX to enjoy the sun and sand! Our trip was peaceful and we were able to see some of the wild ponies on Carova Beach. We played putt putt, made sand castles, and picked lots and lots and lots of seashells. Home sweet home North Carolina xoxoxoxoxoxo

These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Maine Things…

We survived our winter in Maine – our first…not to say our last 🙂 Before we started our “migration” down south we spent our last week doing all of our favorite things. We dined at our favorite pizza place “Ada’s”, had one more sleepover in Mama and Daddy’s bed, skipped stones in the water, and visited Andre the Seal at Rockport Harbor. Despite all the snow and cold weather, this time together as a family was very special and the memories will always warm our hearts xoxoxoxoxo

One of our favorite memories during our winter in Maine was watching you ice skate for the first time 🙂 Certainly not an easy sport…but you were up for the challenge and loved it. With time and patience you were on your way!

Let’s Dance!

New Year = New Things…and for you Charlotte that means dance class! I was hesitant to sign you up but you absolutely love it and are having a blast. You are the youngest of the class taking both ballet and tap. Unfortunately you are much like your mother in that you are not very graceful 🙂 I laugh every time I peek my head through the window to see you slouching with your belly fully out, and instead of listening to your teacher you are spinning and twirling around waving your hands singing. Nevertheless you are enjoying yourself and having fun…not to mention making friends with the other girls in class. I look forward to watching you grow my little ballerina. Dance with your heart, your feet will follow xoxoxoxo

We picked quite the year to enjoy Maine life to the fullest…two words – cold and snow! We have experienced a week of temperatures with a high of 2 and 4 degrees. You tend to get used to it and when we experience 30 degree days it feels like a “heatwave”. After a few short weeks we are feeling more like “Mainers” never leaving the house without boots and hats, shoveling snow every week, and starting a cozy fire almost daily to keep us warm. Winter life in Maine hastn’t been that bad, all things considered we have adjusted fairly well and are keeping busy. The good news is that you absolutely love the snow and don’t get bothered by the cold, you could spend hours outside making snow angels and catching “peanut butter” snowflakes in your mouth 🙂 You love helping Mommy and Daddy shovel the walk..although you have a tendency to throw snow on either one of us or back on the pathway! We’ve always wanted to visit Maine in the winter and this year we definitely got our fix. Stay warm peanut and keep catching those snowflakes xoxoxoxoxoxo

Christmas 2017 – Maine

Charlotte Grace you must have been extra good this year because Santa took especially good care of you! Christmas morning started with you running down the hallway to see if Santa would find us since we no longer lived in NY…and of course he did find us. You were very disappointed though that he ate all of the cookies that you left our for him and that the reindeer had eaten all of their carrots. The day was filled opening presents…lots of Elsa dolls, jewelry making kits, crafts and your very own Weber Grill. At the end of the day you were pooped and went right to bed while visions of sugar plums dance through your head xoxoxoxoxo

Tis the Season to Bake, Shop and Decorate!

We had a very busy and very memborable Chiristmas season this year! We had moved out of our house in New York and we were spending our first Christmas in Maine. Needless to say we had a blast baking lots and lots of cookies, decorating the house and the tree, and of course visiting Santa! This was the first year you didn’t cry when you saw him, but you weren’t getting near that beard and belly without Mama by your side 🙂 The holiday season was bright and merry, and filled with lots of snow and smiles xoxoxoxoxo
